He was a professor of the Department of International Law, Kharkiv University (since 1849). Among the students - M.F. De Poulet, who left memories of him. At the same time head of the Museum of Fine Arts of the Kharkov University (since 1870).
The author of the books: "On privateers and prize proceedings" (Moscow, 1855; London, 1867), "A look at the history of political science in Europe" (Moscow, 1859), "The course of international law" (Kharkov, 1863-1866). It was published in the journal "Russian Bulletin", "Russian word".
In 1869 he was in Voronezh, visited a member of the District Court M.P. Yakimov (08.08.1828 - 06.06.1872), graduate of Kharkov University.
