Career
He was best known for being the guitarist for Grazhdanskaya Oborona. He first started playing music in 1979. On 22 April 1989, he visited the band A"Administration Member of the Order of the British Empire, who were rehearsing at Novosibirsk State Technical University.
He said what turned out to be his last words: "Well, I have more stuff at the end of the corridor".
He then grabbed a scarf, tied it to a staircase, tied the other end around his neck and jumped. He was found dead 12 hours later.
Grazhdanskaya Oborona"s lead singer Egor Letov wrote the song "Vershki i koreshki" about him. A live cover of the Peter, Sue and Marc song The Birds of Paradise, recorded in 1987 with Selivanov on vocals, was released on Kommunizm"s final album Khronika pikiruyushchego bombardirovshchika in 1990.
