Background
Thrupp was born in Paddington Green in 1779 to Joseph Thrupp and his wife Mary. Her father was a coach builder and his business would, in time, become Thrupp & Maberly.

The artist Frederick Thrupp was her half-brother. Although another source says that she contributed to magazines edited by Caroline Fry. Her most popular hymn was for children and it was titled A Little Ship on the Sea.
Thrupp was the author of Thoughts for the Day that was published in 1837.
She died in Saint John"s Wood in London in 1847.
