Eda Yukiyoshi was born about 1340.
A relative of the Nittas, he accompanied Yoshisada Nitta, a Loyalist, in his attack on the Kamakura Shogunate. When Takauji Ashikaga revolted against Emperor Godaigo and fled to western Jain 1336, Yukiyoshi gave chase together Ujiaki Odate on behalf of Yoshisada. Yukiyoshi defeated Norimura Akamatsu, an ally of Takauji, at Harima (Hyogo Province). Soon afterward Takauji came back to attack Kyoto. Although fukiyoshi and Yoshisada tried to stop Takauji at Hyogo (Kobe City), they were defeated and retreated to Kyoto. They accompanied Emperor Godaigo to the Enryakuji Temple on Mt. Hiei. Yukiyoshi was captured by Takauji’s forces but managed to flee to Tamba, north of Kyoto. Since then nothing was known about him.
