Captain David Jenkins, an agnostic professor of physics at the USAF Academy, was entrusted to conduct holographic research on the alleged burial cloth of Jesus Christ, as part of the Shroud of Turin Research Project in the late 1970’s. But something went terribly wrong, and Jenkins was forced to resign, by his commanding officer, Colonel Corey J. Simpson. David Jenkins, now a professor at Rice University, uses the holograms taken of the Shroud and perfects microscopic computer memory. Simpson, the CEO of Simpson Biotech International, is shaken by the discovery, the key to his company’s survival. Simpson stops at nothing and devises a blasphemous scheme to obtain the holograms. Betrayed by the God he once believed and the commander he once trusted, Jenkins is forced to question his beliefs as he gambles to expose Simpson’s scheme and uncover the truth—the truth which can only be found in The Crystalline Rain.
