In 1951-1960 she played on the stage of the Maly Theater in Moscow. In 1953, she married her former classmate Viktor Korshunov. In 1967 she graduated from the postgraduate course of GITIS at the department of directing, the course of M. Knebel. In 1981 she headed the Moscow theater "Sphere". She died on July 16, 2013, in Moscow at the 84th year of her life. Ekaterina Elanskaya was buried on July 20 at the Novodevichy Cemetery, next to her mother.
