Elisabeth Jane Stewart, a daughter of Harold C. Jones, a civil engineer, and Elizabeth Ann (Murphy) Jones, a legal secretary, was born on November 7, 1927, in Galveston, Texas, United States.

Education

In 1950, Elisabeth received a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas State Normal College (present-day Texas A&M University–Commerce). Later, in 1961, she got a Master of Arts degree from Arizona State College at Flagstaff (present-day Northern Arizona University).

Career

Besides being a writer, Elisabeth worked as a teacher of Mathematics at junior high schools in several cities, including Eloy (Arizona), Flagstaff (Arizona) and Provo (Utah), during the period from 1953 till 1976.

Achievements
