Endo Yoshimoto was born in 1905 in Tottori Prefecture, Japan.
In 1930 Endo Yoshimoto graduated from Kyoto University.
From 1936 Endo Yoshimoto served as professor at Seijo Higher School, he was a lecturer, then, in 1939, he became an assistant professor. He became a professor of Kyoto University in 1949. He took authority on the study of word usage in the «Manydshii». He was a member of the National Language Council, director of the National Language Society and concurrently member of the National Institute of National Language.
