Evgeny Alekseevich graduated from the Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg (now S.M. Kirov Military Medical Academy) (1910). He was awarded the gold medal of the Medical Society for studying one of the aspects of the problem of conditioned reflexes (1908).
Evgeny Alekseevich Neiz was a resident of the Faculty Therapy Clinic of St. Petersburg University (1910-1914). Participant of the 1st World War as a military doctor. He was a district doctor in St. Petersburg province (1918-1922). Evgeny Alekseevich Neiz was a professor (1922-1923), head of the department of pediatric diseases (1923-1930) of the medical faculty, Voronezh State University.
Evgeny Alekseevich Neiz was an organizer of the Society of Pediatric Physicians in Voronezh (1926). He was a scientific director of the Voronezh Regional Research Institute of Maternal and Childhood Protection (1933-1940). Head of the Department of Pediatrics (1930-1957), at the same time Dean of the Pediatric Faculty (1938-1957) of the Voronezh State Medical Institute (now Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko).
Author of about 50 scientific papers on the development of preventive measures for toxic dyspepsia, measures to combat epidemic meningitis and treatment of malaria, including the book "On the Shiga-Kruse dysenteric bacillus nucleoprotein" (St. Petersburg, 1918), memories of I.P. Pavlov (Voronezh, 1941).
