After serving as assistant professor of Kyushii University, despatched to Europe and America to study dendrology. After returning to Japan, appointed professor of Kyushu University and then professor of Tokyo University, and concurrently director of the Forestry Industry Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Announced many research articles on forestry and utilization of woods for which he received the doctorate degree.
