Graduate assistant University Tokyo Medical School, 1969-1970, resident in pediatrics. Clinical fellow in hematology and oncology St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, 1975-1977. Assistant professor pediatrics University Tokyo, 1978-1990, associate professor, since 1990.

Visiting fellow bone marrow transplantation unit Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, 1982.
