Furuchi Rokuzo was born in Tokyo, eldest son of Kimitake Furuichi in 1885, former member of the Privy Council.
Furuchi Rokuzo graduated from the Mining and Metallurgy Section of Tokyo University (1910) and entered the Sumitomo Concern.
Furuchi Rokuzo became managing director of the Sumitorao Mining Company (1933) and served as president of the Teikoku Mining Industry Company and of the Tohoku Zinc Industry Company. Assumed the present post (1950). Forerunner of Japan's boat race sport. At present chairman of the Japan Boat Race Association.
Elected to the House of Peers (1942).
