Bachelor of Science, Columbian (now George Washington) University, 1899, Master of Arts, 1903, Bachelor of Laws, from same, 1902, Master of Laws, 1903, Doctor of Laws, 1919.

Career

With unites states department Justice, Washington, engaged in proceedings under the Anti-Trust Acting, 1902-1905. Moved to New York, 1905. Later special assistant to attorney-general of the United States in proceedings under Sherman Acting and Interstate Commerce Acting against anthracite railroads, also in proceedings leading to final decree in Union Pacific-Southern Pacific merger case.

Appointed by President and confirmed by Senate as the assistant to attorney general of the United States, 1913-1919.

In charge of enforcement of Sherman Anti-Trust Acting and other interstate commerce laws. Resigned, April 1, 1919, and returned to general practice.

Director and member Executive Committee Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States.
