Ordained Congleton ministry, 1888. Pastor West Pawlet, Vermont, 1888-1889, West Rupert, Vermont, 1889-1891, Manchester, Vermont, 1894-1902, Newton Highlands, Massachusetts, 1902-1921. Lecturer upon English literature, philosophy and art, since 1895.
Lecturer, Andover Theological Seminary, 1921, Middlebury College School of English, 1921.
Studied art in Europe 1923-1924. Acting president Wheaton College, 1925-1926.
