Georgy Aleksandrov studied Communist philosophy in Borisoglebsk and Tambov from 1924 to 1930. Later he entered the Moscow Institute of History and Philosophy, graduating from it in 1932.
Georgy Aleksandrov started his career as Head of the Department of the History of Philosophy at the Moscow Institute of History and Philosophy in 1938. At the same time, he worked as head of the publishing department at the Executive Committee of the Communist International from 1938 to 1939 and as director of Higher Party School at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet from 1939 to 1946.
In 1940, Aleksandrov left the Moscow Institute of History and Philosophy and became head of the Propaganda and Agitation Department at Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He held this post until 1947 and then he became head of the Institute of Philosophy at the Russian Academy of Sciences.
On March 9, 1954, Aleksandrov became the Minister of Culture. In 1955, he was involved in a sexual scandal known as "the case of gladiators", as a result, he lost his post and was sent to Minsk. In Minsk, he became head of the Section of Dialectical and Historical Materialism at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and held this post until 1961.
Georgy Aleksandrov published his first book Philosophical Forerunners of Marxism in 1939. Later he wrote such books as For Formation of the Philosophical Views of Marx and Engels and An Essay in the History of Social Ideas in Ancient India.
