Gerald David Badger was born in 1948 in Northampton, England, United Kingdom.
Badger studied architecture at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee in 1964-69, and photography with Joseph McKenzie in 1966-69.
Badger has been both an architect and a teacher of photography at the Stanhope Institute in London since 1976. Prior to that he worked at Peter Wood & Partners, architects, in London (1973-76).
A recipient of the Greater London Arts Association's Visual Arts Major Award in 1979, he also was awarded an Arts Council Grant for Photography in 1977.
