Godfrey Blow was born on October 6, 1948 in North Hykeham, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. His family moved to Sheffield, when he was two years old.
In 1971, Godfrey received Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree, graduating from Sheffield Hallam University. Also, he attended Manchester Metropolitan University.
In 1982, Godfrey Blow emigrated to Australia, where he made his living by teaching and through his artwork. Some time later, he devoted most of his time to the art. In 2002, Godfrey initiated the Perth Stuckists in Western Australia. In July of that year, along with Melbourne Stuckists, he exhibited his works at "The First Stuckist International", which opened at the Stuckism Gallery in Shoreditch, London.
During his lifetime, the artist held many solo shows at different art centres and galleries, including Barnet Arts Centre in London (1976), Fremantle Arts Centre in Fremantle, Western Australia, (1983), Gomboc Gallery in Middle Swan, Western Australia, (1996, 1998) and others.
