Grigory Ivanovich graduated from the Voronezh Children's Musical School No. 1 (teachers E.V. Terekhova, S.Y. Balandin, B.M. Golod, L.D. Chernyshov), piano (teacher E.M. Timakina) and Theoretical Department of the Central Music School at Moscow Conservatory (1988), Moscow Conservatory with a degree in music theory (1995, teachers Y.N. Kholopov, V.S. Tsenova, A.I. Kandinsky, E.I. Chigareva, A.S. Sokolov), postgraduate study (1998, Moscow Conservatory, Professor Y.N. Kholopov).
Grigory Ivanovich was a lecturer (since 1996), Assistant Professor (since 2005) at the Department of Theory of Music at the Moscow Conservatory. Sphere of creative interests: the harmony of the late Renaissance, the history of the doctrine of harmony, the history of musical theory.
Author of articles on the modal harmony of the XVI century, co-author of the university textbook "Musical-theoretical Systems" (Moscow, 2006), as well as the books "Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka: An Album of Piano Transcriptions with Comments and Illustrations" (Chelyabinsk, 2006).
