Hajime Yoshii was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1900.
Hajime Yoshii graduated from Tokyo University in 1924.
In 1924 Hajime Yoshii became technician of the government of Korea, and then served as assistant professor of Kyushu University in 1928, became professor in 1938. During the above period, he published many research articles concerning the resistance of vegetable against disease. Yoshii Hajime made a special study of sweet potato and tobacco leaf diseases. He accorded a doctorate in 1944.
