Commandant of School for Officers, A.F., 1879. Military Secretary to Governor, Bombay, 1880- 1882. Served Nile Expedition and Suakim Expedition, 1885 (despatches, medal and clasp and bronze star).
Commanded a brigade at both Queen Victoria’s Jubilee Processions. Received Jubilee medal, having longer service under Queen Victoria than any officer on duty that day. Originated military cyclists, also the military tournament, and the distinction for Volunteers of 20 years’ service.
Has served since 1893 on Committee of Carlton Club. Retired.
