Admitted to New York bar, 1895, and since practiced in New York City. Head of title business of Reeve & Bartlett from 1902, and for many years sole owner until sale in 1925 of plant at Riverhead to Title Guarantee & Trust Company Appointed, January 1926, by Appellate Division, 2d Department, Supreme Court of New York, member Committee on Character and Fitness of Applicants for Admission to the Bar. Resigned November 1926, for reasons stated to the court and given wide publicity.
This and later action considered of weight in securing from Court of Appeals increased requirements for admission to the Bar of New New York
