Hidayat Prem got his early education from Rohri, secondary from Sukkur and higher education from University of Sindh, Jamshoro. He holds a degree in linguistics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (1989), London, and a Doctor of Philosophy from University of Sindh in 1995. First He was appointed officer in forest and then appointed as lecturer in Sindhi Department in University of Sindh and appointed chairmen of faculty.
He is retired from Sindh University.
