He was a self-educated.
Career
He deserted the clan and wandered in the provinces of western Honshu. Became well-known for his wandering habit and eccentricities. He was well versed in classics. Mabuchi Kamo admired his waka poems, which was in the style of Manyoshii, the oldest anthology.
