Hisanosuke Izui was appointed assistant professor of Kyoto University (1936). Awarded a Doctor of Literature (1946) and appointed professor of the university and concurrently director of the university library.
Traveled frequently to the South Sea Islands and French Indo-China. Wrote many books including "Structure of Language," "Study of Language and Race" and "Comparative Study of Languages."
