Igor Nikolaevich graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Culture in 1964 (the course of A. Kiva) and the Higher Directing Courses in 1968 (the creative laboratory of S. Obraztsova).
Igor Nikolaevich Lukin worked in the theaters of Kirov, Kalinin, Kuibyshev. In 1985-1988, he had been a director of the Voronezh Philharmonic. In the same time he carried out one-time performances in Ulyanovsk, Saratov and other cities. He organized the Department of Puppet Theater Artists in the Voronezh Music School, as well as in the Voronezh State Institute of Art, where he taught in 1975-1979 and since 1985.
