Became a disciple of Sadogatake and was patronised by Lord of Totomi (Shizuoka Prefecture) under the name of Makinoshima-Saisuke (1821).
Career
Was first promoted to rank of Ozeki (Champion) and then became the 4th Yokcauna (grand champion) (1829) after he gave a performance in the presence of Emperor Ninko at Kyoto.
