Innokenty was born in 1896 in Moscow, Russian Federation; son of the conductor A.M. Kalmykov and dramatic and operetta actress S.A. Kalmykova (nee Orlova).
He began his creative activity in 1918. He worked in theaters of Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Mozdok, Baku, Tbilisi and other cities. Chief choreographer of the Voronezh Theater of Musical Comedy (1939-1944). He headed the ballet troupe of the theater during the evacuation in Central Asia during the Great Patriotic War. Choreographer in performances: “The Honor of the Uniform” by Valentin Alexandrovich Belits (1940), “The Priestess of Fire” by Valentin Petrovich Valentinov (1941), “One year later” by Boris Aleksandrovich Aleksandrov (1941) and others. In the last years of his life he worked in amateur art and performance (Kemerovo).
