Career
Inoue Gentetsu began studying medicine under Gensaku Manase in Kyoto late in life and then under Tsunasmge Tokugawa in Kofu (1647) to become physician to Shogun Iyemitsu Tokugawa. Was conferred the title of Hogen (1665) and then because of his treatment of Princess Tofukumonin was created Hdin (1673). He was often consulted by Emperors Gomino-o and Gosai and is said to have had 1,000 disciples.
