Denike, Iurii was born in 1887.
Bolshevik, 1904-1907. Menshevik after March 1917. One of the leaders of the Kazan Soviet, 1917.
One of the initiators of the movement of workers’ representatives (non-Bolshevik) in Petrograd in 1918. Arrested in July 1918. Member of the Soviet Embassy in Berlin in 1922, soon became an emigre.
Joined the German Social Democratic Party. Spent several months in prison in Nazi Germany. Moved to Paris. During World War II, moved to USA. Member of the editorial board of Solsialisticheskii Vestnik (Socialist Herald).
Later became a writer and broadcaster with Radio Liberty in Munich.
