In 1951 Ivan-Valentyn Zadorozhny graduated from the All-Ukrainian Art Institute in Kiev, Ukraine (now the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture) in the studio of Konstantin Yeleva, Anatoly Petrytsky.

Ivan-Valentyn Zadorozhny was born on July 7, 1921 in Rzhyshchiv, Ukraine.
In 1951 Ivan-Valentyn Zadorozhny graduated from the All-Ukrainian Art Institute in Kiev, Ukraine (now the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture) in the studio of Konstantin Yeleva, Anatoly Petrytsky.
Ivan-Valentyn Zadorozhny participated in All-Ukrainian, All-Union and foreign art exhibitions from 1946. Besides, he worked as a teacher in 1952-1955.
Zadorozhny worked in the "harsh" style, realism, and neo-folklore and was the author of numerous monumental paintings, posters, stained glass windows, carvings on wood, tapestries, and even sculptures. Moreover, he authored the stained-glass windows of the upper station of the Kiev funicular.
Ivan-Valentyn Zadorozhny won the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for the monumental and decorative design of the village Kalita, Kiev region. In 1960 he became Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.
Zadorozhny also received the Order of the Patriotic War, II degree in 1985.
Besides, Ivan-Valentyn Zadorozhny was a Laureate of the State Taras Shevchenko Prize in 1995 (posthumously) for a series of works from 1964-1988.
In addition, several of his works are stored in the NHM, Berdyansk (Zaporozhye region), Gorlivka (Donetsk Region), Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava.
