Since 1953 Ivan Dmitrievich worked as a choirmaster, accompanist in various club institutions of the Voronezh region, created a Russian song choir (1956) in the Pavlovsky district House of Culture, which received the title of "popular" (1967) and became a laureate of many all-Russian amateur art festivals.
The author of songs, many of which are included in the repertoire of singing groups, published in the collection of the Central House of Folk Art named after N.K. Krupskaya: "Over the Quiet Don", "On the Voronezh Land" and others. The song "Don Town, you are always young" has become Pavlovsk's “calling card”. Since 1967, in different years, Ivan Dmitrievich worked as a choirmaster in Voronezh.
