Education

Ivan Nikolaevich graduate of St. Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineers, he was appointed as an assistant to the constructor of army barracks at Liski station in Voronezh province (1886).

Career

Ivan Nikolaevich Afanasyev was a second engineer of the provincial government construction department in Voronezh (1886-1899), Voronezh eprarchy architect (1899-1917). He worked in the administrative bodies (1918-1924), moved to Novocherkassk with the White movement (1919-1920).

Achievements

Ivan Nikolaevich built several stone churches in villages of Valuisk and Ostrogozhsk districts, Host Resurrection Cathedral in Belogorsk Monastery (1916), a cenobium at Spiritual College in Biryuch, Voronezh province, Ilyinsk church in Rossosh, Ostrogozhsk district, Voronezh province (1897-1916).
