In the March of 1652 he was an appointed colonel. Chernigov Regiment, where Dzinkovsky served, together with a group of Cherkasses passed into the Russian state, and on August 18, 1652 it settled in Ostrogozhsk town. Ivan Nikolayevich headed Ostrogozhsk Cherkassy Regiment, led the Cossacks during military campaigns, particularly, against the Tatars in 1660, to Chernigov city in 1669. Also he took part in the fortification construction and Ostrogozhsk city protection. In the September of 1670 he went over to the Razin people who raised the insurrection in the city. Dzinkovsky was captured by government troops and executed.
