The objective people wish to attain is not merely to be saved from something. God wishes his children to be saved to something.

All human life is sacred and created by God and therefore, we must see all human life as significant and valuable. When governments implement the death penalty, then the life of the convicted person is devalued and all possibility of change in that person’s life ends.

As human beings people find themselves as part of an unjust, sinful and violent world, which we may feel individually helpless to change. If we accept forgiveness, God can enable us to resist evil and to live life to the full.
