Jenel Virden

Background

Jenel Virden was born in 1954, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, United States. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Peggy (Hunt) Virden.

Education

Virden graduated from Washington State University in 1981. She then obtained a Master of Arts degree from it in 1983 and her doctorate from the University of Washington in 1992.

Career

In 1992 Virden went to England, where she started teaching history at the University of Hull. In 1996, she wrote her first book, Good-bye Piccadilly.

Now Virden holds the position of a professor at the university and also works as a freelance writer.
