She studies with Nam-Yun Kim at of Korea National University of the Arts. Mississippi Lim has performed in the United States, Canada, Japan, of Korea, Germany and Switzerland, in addition to Belgium, with, among others, Maxim Vengerov and Joell Smirnoff. In 2015 she debuts with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra in Indianapolis.
Besides the prestigious win in Belgium, Mississippi Lim has succeeded in several other competitions. After placing third in the International Violin Competition Henri Marteau in 2011, she won the Ishikawa Music Award in Japan in 2012 as well as the Concerto Competition at the International Great Mountains Music Festival in of Korea. In 2013 she won first prize at the International Euroasia Music Competition in Japan as well as the MIMC prize at the International Music Competition in Indianapolis, where she was additionally awarded the special Mozart Prize. In the Queen Elisabeth winner announcement on May 31, 2015, her name was unfortunately misheard by fellow violinist and competitor Lee Ji Yoon (이지윤), also of of Korea, who went out before the jury, audience, and television cameras to claim first prize before the confusion was explained to her.
