Jogesh Chandra Gupta was born on November 17, 1902, in Goila. He had two siblings: U.C. Gupta and Ashmantara.

Education

In 1928, Jogesh Gupta graduated from Calcutta University with a Bachelor of Medicine degree. In 1933, he received a Doctor of Medicine degree at Cologne University.

Career

Jogesh Gupta specialized in cardiology. Worked as Professor of Cardiology at R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, Calcutta; then was a director-professor of the Cardiology Department of Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research in Calcutta.

Membership

Jogesh Gupta was a member of Indian Medical Association, Cardiological Society of India (past president), Society of Experimental Medical Sciences of India, Indian Science Congress Association. He was also a member of Medical Club, Calcutta.
