He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota, later completed a course in Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
After studies he returned to Detroit to establish an office in the city. Continuing in practice during the rest of his life, except for an interval between 1905 and 1910 when he taught Architecture at the University of Illinois, Mr. Case designed the Detroit Journal Building (noted as the first steel and terra cotta construction in the city), other business structures and a number of residences. He was also associate architect of the High School at Pontiac, Mich.
