In 1974 John D. Early received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sioux Falls. In 1975 he obtained a Master of Arts degree in English from Western Illinois University.
Career
John D. Early worked in insurance prior to 1980. From 1980 to 1986 he was a lecturer at North Dakota State University. In 1986 he was appointed an assistant professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He was a professor there and has taught for 27 years. Among his service to the university and to the department, John chaired the Freshman English Committee for 12 years and was a member of the MFA faculty.
