Before becoming a professional artist he was employed by a firm of art dealers in London. Exhibitor at the Royal Society of British Artists. Royal Society of Marine Artists: New English Arts Club.

The artist was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother at the presentation of one of his paintings in 1975.
Middleton exhibition opened by Lor Chalfron in 1991. A picture of Persian War in retirement was later auctioned for the injured jockey"s fund. Another painting of racing at Chepstow was the trophy for the Saint Patrick"s chase run in 1980.
Foulger left his house and contents to Oxfam following his death.
Over 100 of his paintings we sold during the summer of 2008, raising over £13,000 for the charity.
