John Sauter is the founder and current president of Tower 14 Capital, L.P., an investment firm focused on real estate investments based in Los Angeles. Tower 14 acquired Middle Street Partners, a prestigious apartment operator from Charleston, S.C., in August 2019.
Mr. Sauter is a former Principal and Senior Managing Director at CBRE Global Investors. He completed $2.0B investment transactions and helped raise about $2.5B worth of equity for its separate accounts and funds. Before his tenure at CBRE, John was a partner at M.S.D. Real estate Investments, L.P. While working with M.S.D., he completed 22 separate private and public transactions valued at over 5$B and nearly $1B of equity involving debt, properties, and stock.
Before joining M.S.D., John had held other senior positions in various companies, including Starwood Capital, Troon Golf, and Dune Real Estate Partners. He was also a partner at Investec, a real estate investment and development company based in Santa Barbara. Mr. Sauter holds a B.A. in political science from Duke University and an M.B.A. from The University of California.
