Gardner, John Henry was born on October 10, 1893 in Meadowdale, New York, United States. Son of John Henry and Fanny Brooks (Ostrander) Gardner.

Bachelor of Science, Union College, 1913. Master of Science in Electrical Engineer, 1915. Master of Science, Yale, 1924.

Career

With General Electric Company, 1913-1917. Second in command Lieutenant Field Artillery, 1917 and advanced through the grades to brigadier general, 1943. With Field Artillery, American Expeditionary Force and Army of Occupation, 1918-1921.

Transferred to Signal Corps in 1923 and served in various research and development activities since 1927.

Commanding general, Signal Corps Aircraft Signal Service, Wright Field, Dayton, O., 1943. Assistant chief, Procurement and Distribution Service, Office Chief Signal Officer, Washington, District of Columbia, since August 1943.
