Education
He graduated from Tokyo University (1921). Studied geology in Switzerland as overseas student of Ministry of Education (1928-1930).
Career
Served successively as assistant at his alma mater, professor at the 1st Higher School, director of Hokkaido Geological Survey Council and professor at Hokkaido University (1930).
He was conferred a doctorate, Doctor of Science (1930). Later was granted subsidies by Scientific Research Promotion Society and Ministry of Education for his researches in rocks and mine beds.
Was dean of Hokkaido University's Faculty of Science. Is a member of Japan Science Council and member of Hokkaido General Development Committee.
