Graduated from Agricultural & Biological Department of Hokkaido University (1927).
Career
Served as a professor at his alma mater and Hakodate Higher Fisheries School and thereafter became an assistant professor of Agricultural Department of Hokkaido University (1940). Promoted to professor (1945) and the same year became shokutaku (professional associate) of Hokkaido Fisheries Experimental Station. Was professor of Fisheries Department of Hokkaido University (since 1953).
