After graduating from Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts (1921) proceeded to France for further studies, where Kanji Maeda mastered realism and modern art. Returned home (1925).
Career
Later founded "1930 Society" together with Zenzaburo Kojima and others to encourage young artists (1926). Kanji Maeda a judge for Imperial art exhibitions (1928).
