(By exploring and comparing everyday objects and rituals, ...)
By exploring and comparing everyday objects and rituals, this series helps young readers understand the similarities and differences that exist among societies, as well as the role that everyday objects play in reflecting the inner life and culture of people from around the world. Each book's design incorporates four-color photos, cut-outs, and silhouettes that mingle with short text blocks, making this multicultural series not just visually appealing, but uniquely informative, too. Every culture has it's own rules about how to greet people. Bedouin men in Saudia Arabia stroke their beards and Tahitians rub their noses.

Also she thinks children to be ideal readers.
Quotations: “My aim is to convey to children the same enthusiasm and curiosity which led me to want to write the books in the first place. Children’s books are an intellectual and artistic challenge: not only do 1 have to master the basic complex concepts germane to a given topic, but I must think of creative, fresh ways to make the narrative artful and exciting. Children are ideal readers: they are open to good stories and are natural critics of that which lacks passion and depth. I enjoy writing for such a mentally energetic audience.”
