Kazimir Stanislavovich Barantsevich was a Russian writer and poet.
Background
Kazimir Stanislavovich Barantsevich was born on May 22, 1851, in Saint Petersburg into the family of Stanislav Martynovich Barantsevich, a descendant of the Polish aristocratic family belonging to the Order of Leliwa, and Julia Ivanovna Leman. His father was an official of the Commission of the Sinking Fund but the main family income came from his mother's sewing workshop.
Education
From his childhood Kazimir loved literature and at the age of 9, he read the collected edition of Pushkin's works. The boy was so impressed that he wrote his first poem called "Ponyatovsky".
In 1862 Kazimir Stanislavovich entered the Second Saint Petersburg Gymnasium but in 1868 he was expelled for his poor performance in maths.
After his parents' death, Kazimir Stanislavovich had to work hard in order to take care of the family. He worked as a clerk for the Russian Building Society, later he served for the 1st Saint Petersburg horse-drawn railways association.
