He graduated from Tokyo University in 1903.
Career
He served as compiler at Library Bureau of Department of Imperial Household from 1914, head of same bureau from 1926, instructor of Literature Department of Tokyo University from 1938 and chief compiler of history of Imperial Household Institutions of Imperial Academy from 1946 and thereafter became researcher of Imperial Household Agency (1949).
He versed in history of Imperial Household Institutions, he wrote a number of books on the subject including History of Imperial Household Institutions: Succession to Throne and acts and Deeds of Generations of Arisugawa Princes.
