In 1920 graduated from Tokyo University. In 1925 was later sent for further studies to Europe and America.
After graduating from Tokyo University Kenjird Kimura was appointed assistant professor at his alma mater. Upon return rejoined the university. He was conferred a doctorate (1931), and promoted professor (1933). When isotope was imported into Japan (1950) he was appointed by the Ministry of Education as president for the Radioactive Isotope Research Committee.
