Kiyoyasu Matsudaira moved from Anjo to Okazaki Castle in Aichi Prefecture in 1526 and then conquered Yoshida and Tahara castles thus bringing Mikawa Province under his control. Realizing his power Nobutora Takeda sought his friendship.
Later with intention of extending his power westward invaded Owari Province and signed a friendship pact with Nobumitsu Oda. At this time Kiyoyasu's uncle Nobusada conspired with Nobuhide Oda, who was on bad terms with Nobumitsu, to destroy Kiyoyasu and his friend. Kiyoyasu heard of this plot and also came to learn that one of his retainers named Sadayoshi Abe was acting as a spy for his enemies but before he could take any action Sadayoshi’s son Masatoyo slew Kiyoyasu.
